Knut fans protest over polar bear's stuffing by Berlin Zoo | Herald Sun

"FANS of famed polar bear Knut have staged a protest outside Berlin Zoo in protest at plans to stuff and display the body of the dead global superstar, German news website The Local reported yesterday."

Polar bear could be saved if emissions are cut, says new study

New study says, "the polar bear can be saved from extinction – but only if action is taken quickly to make deep cuts to greenhouse gas emissions, a new study shows", according to an article written in the Guardian.

Drilling Blocked in Alaska’s Chukchi Sea - Polar Bears International


"A native group cheered at the news that a U.S. judge stopped companies from developing oil and gas wells on leases in the Chukchi Sea, home to 10% of the world’s polar bears. The court ruled that the Minerals Management Service failed to analyze the environmental impact of such development. Concerns about the effects of an oil spill on area wildlife, including polar bears, prompted a lawsuit against the drilling."
